Ms. Diva Mini Horse: Cute But Contrary

Have you ever attempted a photo shoot with a miniature horse?

Cute as can be but so contrary--- all I wanted was a simple macro eye shot with a reflection.

Is that asking too much, Ms. Diva Horse?

After much trial and tribulation-- and many shots of nostrils and ears...

Success!  Yippee! See the fence and horizon and if you look closely you can see my camera.

Too bad my head is hidden behind Ms. Diva's lashes.

I could have tried for more shots but didn't want to push my luck.

You know how divas are...

Mystery Volunteer

I've been watching this little patch of mystery volunteers for over a week.

Now the true leaves are appearing and I think they may be watermelon.

What do you think?

The only thing is that none of my melons made last year and I don't remember throwing any melon scraps in the garden.  Hmm, a mystery...

And these guys are sprouting up right at the base of a very large lavender shrub-- a couple are really in under the lavender. How did seeds get there?  The plot thickens...

Fun Around OKC

Guess who I married?

Tom Thumb!

This table and chair is part of the optical illusion exhibit at Science Museum Oklahoma.  We all sat in the chair but hubby looked the funniest in it. But then again, he always looks the funniest...

Talon loved the new Segway exhibit.  He rode five times!  I rode too and it is so easy and so much fun. Those mall cops are definitely having a blast whizzing around on Segways!

A Talon mosaic! I was so busy doing that I didn't get too many photos. Sorry Gram!

Bottom left:  Talon was absolutely thrilled when a nice lady at Cracker Barrel taught him how to play checkers.  He always depends on the kindness of strangers.

Sunny Volunteers 2011

Our volunteer sunflowers are always a welcome sight!

They just started blooming and it feels like meeting a long lost friend!

Don't you just love plants that drop seeds?

A dropped seed is a precious gift that keeps on giving.

What flora-tastic friends are you welcoming back to the garden?

I'll show you more happy volunteers soon...

Doggie Non Grata

Sunday afternoon, we returned home after spending three days in Oklahoma City to kick off our summer fun. We ate fabulous food, shopped and played at the science museum and amusement park! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Fun till we came home, that is. Then, it was-- Crap! Crap! Crap!
While we were gone, UPS delivered some Skecher Tone Up sport/water sandals that I had ordered.

Guess where the brilliant driver left the package?

Right on the porch...
UH-OH!
Can you believe it!?

And the sandals were out in the grass in less than pristine condition!

I did find the ankle strap, thank goodness, and hope it can be sewn back on since these are the most comfy water/sport sandals ever. They are sproingy like a reebok dmx! Should be great for water rides and walking all day at Silver Dollar City.

Drat-- look at this! So aggravating!!

And who is the culprit?

Snowpaw aka Doggie Non Grata!!

This isn't Snowpaw's first infraction, by the way.

And we wondered why she had been dumped... bet the dumpers had a big ol' heehaw at our expense!
