Fancy Shoes!

Talon gets a bit manic in shoes stores--- especially Brown's Shoe where he can get to everything. I can barely shop! Talon brings shoe after shoe for me to try on. He isn't quiet either. As Talon brings me a shoe from across the store, he starts promoting it's good points.

Of course, what he thinks are good points...

And I don't know about that boy's taste in shoes....

The other shoppers find it very entertaining.

Really, Talon is like a pushy salesman--- I finally asked if the store was hiring!

Strawberry Cake

Typically, I don't buy flavored cake mixes because of the artificial taste. However, mixes were on sale--cheap--- so I bought a few.

I jazzed this one up with strawberry preserves and pink glaze. Turned out pretty and didn't taste too artificial.

I did want the preserves to end up in the middle of the cake-- maybe using a bit less next time will keep it from sinking to the bottom of the pan.

I think I will buy lemon curd and do something similar with the lemon cake mix. Oh, and lemon flavored glaze--- that ought to be yummy!

If you know any good ways to improve store bought cake mixes, please share. I have several more boxes!

Yes, there is a reason...

In case you are wondering why two duck videos, it is because I've been trying to learn a better way to post vids. Blogger take hours-- even days to upload a 1-3 minute video-- sometimes they never load. So I'm trying youtube. So far it works and is faster. The only problem was figuring out which way to move the vid from youtube to my blog--- Share or embed. One click sharing is very quick but I found it was impossible to edit--- the video would disappear. Embedding allows editing--- so far anyway.

The first video (which I can't edit to add labels ect) is linked to a status update on facebook. When it is old news on facebook, I will delete that one.

When Talon made the cute 'snapper' comment mentioned in a previous post, I started taping. He didn't say it again but said other cute things. Turn up the volume to hear his voice.
