A Tale of Two Bookbloggers (meeting IRL)

Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life? Last month, I did and it was so much fun! If you develop a special connection with a fellow blogger and have an opportunity to meet in real life, Do it!

I posted about this momentous meeting on my bookblog and you can read about it here:

Surprise from South Carolina!

THANK YOU, KAT!!
How exciting! Kat sent us Christmas treats from South Carolina! We considered waiting till Christmas to open...

What could it be?!

Why, it's a very dapper crow!

Awww....

Kat's sister sews various animals-- doesn't she do amazing work.
Love the crow! The tiny bee button accents are too cute! This guy may end up in my yellow kitchen-- Sorry, Talon!

Kat's sister sews little mice, too. Aren't they cute?! Scraps from the larger animals are used to make the mice. Then the mouse scraps are given to the birds for nests. Nothing is wasted.

They're the perfect size for Jim to work into a magic trick.

Cute kitty paper!

Woohoo! Tiny Wilton Cookie Cutters! Noah's Ark and Animals! How cute! Can't wait to use them! Thank you! Thank you!

What pretty earrings!

What lovely thoughtful gifts! Thank you for thinking of us, Kat!

Punkins!

This is for DeLynne, bless her little punkin yearnin heart!

DeLynne has made Australia home for 20 years but still pines for American traditions such as Halloween pumpkins. In Australia, pumpkins are very dear: $24 dollars each! If they cost as much in the USA, I bet everyone's fall displays would be much less extravagant!

I don't buy pumpkins so rarely notice them. However, since DeLynne's report, I've started paying attention. Americans don't realize how fortunate they are to live in the land of plentiful low-priced pumpkins!

At Walmart Halloween day. Wish I could ship a few to DeLynne! Wonder why the indoor and outdoor pumpkins are different prices...

Two days after Halloween!

Love old farm trucks loaded with a bountiful harvest!

Next year, even though my house sits 2 miles off the highway and there aren't any neighbors per se to admire a display, I'm going to arrange a spectacular one with a whole passel of punkins!

Kat's Lavender

Isn't this a beautiful lavender...

Before my friend Kat moved to South Carolina last spring, she let me raid her garden. This lavender is large with a wide girth but didn't suffer a bit from the transplanting. It has thrived and bloomed all summer!! It is absolutely gorgeous--- Thank you, Kat!!!
